Inspired by English winter landscape imagery you will be encouraged to explore your own creative style and the ideas you want to express, as well as develop your own glossary of marks, techniques and colour combinations that feel personal and deliberate rather than accidental. You will receive guided tuition on colour mixing and expressive drawing alongside exercises that explore the principles of contrast and composition.
You will also explore chromatic greys using different mixes of brown/orange and blue, as well as colour temperature and colour bias so that you can mix colours with more confidence and skill. We will explore different ways of building up a history or layers and texture on your painting so that the uncluttered areas of your work have subtle variations that create interest.Title: Contemporary Winter Landscapes – Winter Whites (Spring 2025)

Time: 10:30am – 4pm

We recommend booking at least two weeks prior to the start date so we can be sure that the class has enough students to go ahead!

Age recommendation for adult courses is 19+.
All adult courses are created in partnership with Abingdon and Witney College and co-funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency. As we are in receipt of government funding, students will be asked to complete an enrolment form and evaluation diary for monitoring purposes.
