Spend the day with contemporary landscape artist Rachel Cronin exploring expressive acrylic painting techniques.
This course is ideal if you would like to free up your brush technique and often find that your paintings get tighter and more overworked the longer you spend on them.
We will spend the morning session exploring expressive brush marks and using these as a way of creating atmosphere and movement before experimenting with different tools like palette knives and wire brushes. You will spend time thinking about the kind of energy you would like your work to convey and choose descriptive or abstract colour combinations to help you express this.
This is a fast paced course where you will work across multiple surfaces throughout the day. You will leave with a number of exploratory sketches as well as paintings that are underway so that you can continue to work on them at home. The emphasis of this session is on play and discovery!
All materials for this session are included but please feel free to bring along brushes and paint colours you wish to use.

Age recommendation for adult courses is 19+.
