From spool to bobbin, and needle to tension, learn the ins and outs of your sewing machine right from the beginning.

This class is suitable for the complete beginner or anyone wanting to know more about sewing machine techniques and operation; you’ll be guided through threading, needles, feet, fabric handling and much more to give you the best start in your sewing journey. Been away from sewing for a while and not sure how to get back to it? This session will give you the confidence to get sewing again with a whole new bank of fresh knowledge.

This course takes place in the Long Room. Please note that regrettably this room is not accessible to wheelchair users due to necessary fire evacuation regulations.

Age recommendation for adult courses is 19+.
All adult courses are created in partnership with Abingdon and Witney College and co-funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency. As we are in receipt of government funding, students will be asked to complete an enrolment form and evaluation diary for monitoring purposes.
